Hundreds of people were present for the inauguration of the "Furore" exhibition at Dorothy Circus Gallery curated by Francesco Lo Castro and D.C.G. Exhibited for the first time in Italy, several works that represent some of the most significant artists of international pop surrealism. Fans of this current style will be able to enjoy varied imagery that push the portrait to the cathartic limits of figurative paroxysm. Among the artists present Ron English, an author who already amazed us in the nineties with his pop pantheon of celebrities with a plastic style. A nice surprise will be on display in the exhibition: the portrait of little Andy Warhol. Sas Christian uses painting to describe women with bold and sensual looks, a sort of hyper-realistic vinyl dolls that expand the register of emotions and passions. Colin Christian is instead the author of gigantic sculptural androids, hyperfetish bodies with ancestral sensuality and feminine fury. Kris Lewis presents some portraits of young girls who show the symbols of their modernity in an almost nineteenth-century scheme. Zoe Lacchei, former illustrator for Marilyn Manson, will present nine geishas performed according to the Japanese calligraphy technique. For the Italian artist it is a sequential and obsessive narration on faces, an irreverent procession in which each female spirit is guided by an animal that symbolizes its furious character. Francesco Lo Castro's images take us back to the dreamlike and ghostly aspects of pop surrealism. His is the restless "Girl and the sea", an image suspended between angry seas and halos of fire, all in a close-up on the social dynamics of an evanescent American dream. Also on display are the geometries of Dalek which evoke space automatons, depicted as they move according to the scansion of electronic time. Rocky Grimes' canvases are a metallic scream that comes from the depths of the most radical American underground. Up to the ironic subjects of Lebo, poetic interpreters of a new creative ferment. A paroxysmal and muscular slide that feeds on the same passion and fury with which the imaginations of the chosen artists are nourished. The musician Giorgio Baldi is inspired by the theme of the exhibition. For the occasion he composed a tribute to the works of pop surrealism, an exclusive soundtrack that will be part of the catalog published by Dorothy Circus Gallery.

Centinaia le persone presenti per l'inaugurazione della mostra "Furore" presso Dorothy Circus Gallery a cura di Francesco Lo Castro e D.C.G. Esposte per la prima volta in Italia, diverse opere che rappresenteranno alcuni tra i più significativi artisti del pop surrealism internazionale. Gli appassionati di questa corrente potranno godersi svariati immaginari che spingono il ritratto sui limiti catartici del parossismo figurativo. Tra gli artisti presenti Ron English, autore che già negli anni Novanta ci stupiva con il suo pantheon pop di celebrities dallo stile plasticoso. In mostra sarà esposta una bella sorpresa: il ritratto del piccolo Andy Warhol. Sas Christian usa la pittura per raccontare donne dagli sguardi grintosi e sensuali, una sorta di bambole viniliche iperrealiste che dilatano il registro delle emozioni e passioni. Colin Christian è invece autore di giganteschi androidi scultorei, corpi iperfetish dalla sensualità ancestrale e dal furore femminile. Kris Lewis presenta alcuni ritratti di giovani ragazze che mostrano i simboli della loro modernità in uno schema quasi ottocentesco. Zoe Lacchei, ex illustratrice per Marilyn Manson, presenterà nove geishe eseguite secondo la tecnica del calligrafismo giapponese. Per l'artista italiana si tratta di una narrazione sequenziale e ossessiva sui volti, una processione irriverente in cui ogni spirito femminile viene guidato da un animale che ne simboleggia il carattere furente. Le immagini di Francesco Lo Castro ci riportano agli aspetti onirici e spettrali del pop surrealism. Sua è l'inquieta "Girl and the sea", immagine sospesa tra mari rabbiosi e aloni di fuoco, il tutto in un close-up sulle dinamiche sociali di un evanescente american dream. In mostra anche le geometrie di Dalek che evoca automi spaziali, raffigurati mentre si muovono secondo la scansione di un tempo elettronico. Le tele di Rocky Grimes sono un urlo metallico che giunge dai fondali del più radicale underground americano. Fino agli ironici soggetti di Lebo, poetici interpreti di un nuovo fermento creativo. Uno slide parossistico e muscolare che si nutre della stessa passione e dello stesso furore con cui si alimentano gli immaginari degli artisti prescelti. Si ispira al tema della mostra il musicista Giorgio Baldi. Per l'occasione ha composto un omaggio ai lavori del pop surrealism, un'esclusiva colonna sonora che farà parte del catalogo edito dalla Dorothy Circus Gallery.
